Reform UK in a bind: Deputy party leader Tice allegedly failed to pay £91,000 in taxes
The deputy leader of the right-wing populist British party Reform UK, Richard Tice, is at the center of a tax affair. According to a report in The Sunday Times, a property company owned by him has failed to pay around £91,000 (approximately €107,000) in taxes on dividends.
The Reform UK party immediately sought to limit the damage, calling the incident a „minor administrative error.“ However, the party did not further explain the exact circumstances of how the apparently unpaid tax debt came about.
The revelation comes at an inopportune time for the up-and-coming party led by Nigel Farage, which positions itself as the voice of the common people against the political establishment. Critics are now accusing the party of double standards, as Reform UK regularly demands tax fairness and financial transparency from others.
